Best bakery ever!! Everything I’ve had here is just amazing. They have the best doughnuts!! I literally dream about them. The ube latte is also really good, not too sweet. Make sure to grab some ube crinkles to go as well. Can’t wait to try more of their items! Staff are also welcoming, helpful, and friendly!!

I decided to do a quick stop today after my Costco run. At Gwenie’s I ordered, ube cake slice, ube cheese pandesal, sapin-sapin, a bag of pandesal and calamansi refresher.
So far Ive eaten the sapin-sapin, ube cake and the ube cheese pandesal. I loved it. The ube cake was moist and perfect sweetness. The Sapin-sapin is also on point. Right amount of sweetness and chewy texture with of the rice cake is perfect. I just wish it had more toasted coconut on top. my mom and i split the ube cheese pandesal into half. And ate it that quick. The calamansi refresher is perfect to quench my thirst.
I laso bought a corned beef sandwich at Lapu-Lapu’s. They literally share the same space. I was not disappointed. Though I must say $15 for a sandwich is a pretty pricey but its ok becoz the serving is quite big and plus nothing in DMV is cheap and you’re getting a yummy sandwich. Not your typical ones.
All in all I loved this little quaint haven of Filipino goodness.
I wish them success!!!!

I adore this little bakery! Their pistachio donut is to die for. Their cakes are so soft and lovely. Their flan is delicious. Their ube crinkles are bursting with flavor. Their sylvanas is decadent. Their ube pie is gorgeous and perfect with the graham cracker crust and ube whipped cream. Their ube brioche is a wonderful breakfast bite with soft, rich bread and generous ube filling. The only thing that I haven't been impressed by was the ube latte (no ube flavor). I get at least one thing every time I come here and I hope to try them all eventually! Everything has been fresh and service has always been great. Definitely stop by if you're near here!

Gwenie’s breakfast sandwiches put other morning sandwiches to shame. The way the bread holds up like a biscuit but tastes like a light bread, the care they took to stack the ingredients(no hard or weirdly cooked eggs), and the flavor of the beef makes every bite awesome. They also have excellent quality coffee and a great variety of cakes and pastries, with some vegan and gf options.

So glad this location opened up not too far from my office building. I've been to the location in North Bethesda, MD, but it's quite a trek from Arlington.
I work hybrid, but this location gives me a yummy reason to come into the office.
It's actually two Filipino eateries combined: Gwenie's pastries & Lapu Lapu. Come for delicious Filipino desserts & breakfast/ lunch sandwiches. The ube soft serve is the best soft serve flavor I've ever had. They really capture the ube flavor well.
The eatery is small with some indoor seating. I hope they start serving halo halo dessert soon.

This place is AMAZING! Everything I ordered was good, and some very authentic flavors.
1) DONUTS (Ube, Mango, Pandan Fillings)
The donut itself was very soft and the texture was great. Very sufficient filling.
2) SANSRIVAL
Very good, and creamy.
3) PAN DE COCO
Authentic Coconut Filling. The only issue I may have here is it should have more filling. It’s the only one here that could be better.
4) HOPIA MONGO
Very authentic, even the texture. Flaky outside.
5) BUKO PANDAN
Not too sweet, and very tasty.
6) CASSAVA
Great density and texture.
7) CAKES (Ube, Mango, Pandan)
Very moist, and good icing and flavors. Remained moist after being refrigerated.

I've only been to the sweets side so far, but already looking forward to coming back and trying more! Would get both the pandan doughnut and the ube bun again, but I have to talk about just how much I loved the doughnut.
I love jam- and cream-filled doughnuts, and my biggest complaint when going somewhere like Krispy Kreme is that there's NEVER enough filling. That wasn't the case here: the light, rich pandan cream was there from the first bite to the last. Not only that, but this is a hearty doughnut: the bread is fluffy but surprisingly filling, which I was pleasantly surprised by!

Wonderful shop in Arlington. A must stop for Filipinos, locals, and DC visitors. Clean, friendly and welcoming. Great selection of sandwiches, sweets, and coffees.
Smallish seating area so takeaway a good option.

Ok. Everyone calm down. Gwenie’s is open and it’s the best thing ever. I tried their Ube latte and there was Halaya in it for the perfect Ube taste. The donuts were fluffy and the filling was wonderfully balanced.
Highly recommend checking them out. I’ll be back to try everything!
I had their Ube cream matcha latte as well and the Ube was frothy and tasty, I really enjoyed it with my Pandan donut. I am entirely obsessed with Gwenie’s baked goods. I usually spot their desserts in other Filipino markets but I’m super happy that they’re right here.
